Vintage Conditions:

Odyssey is created from small parcels of outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon grapes sourced from our oldest terra rossa vineyards and selected for their richness and intense flavours.

Coonawarra's 2016 vintage was early. Slightly above average temperatures,dry conditions and cool nights throughout the growing season produced outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon fruit.

Oak Maturation:

Matured for 36 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels (85% new), this elegant wine displays a seamless blend of rich fruit and extended oak maturation. 

Food Matching:

The concentrated flavours of Odyssey will pair well with full flavoured dishes such as cassoulet, slow cooked rosemary lamb shanks or baked polenta with mushrooms and thyme.

Colour:

Deep plum red with purple hues.

Nose:

Layers of rich fruit and oak. An attractive combination of dark berries, ripe plum fruit and oak maturation notes of mocha, vanilla and cedar.

Palate:

Classic Cabernet characteristics of juicy forest berries, black cherry and cassis are complemented by a complex array of oak maturation notes and polished, fine grainedtannins.

Cellaring Potential:

Cellared correctly, Katnook Odyssey will age gracefully for up to 20 years.
